2019 September Meeting Minutes

President Hank Sims called the meeting to order at 7:01 P.M. on September 9, 2019 at Jan’s Beach House Grill. There were 18 members present. Treasurer Andy Martin gave the financial report.

Old business was discussed. Tom Miro reported on the September 6 Lower Dexter First Friday Cruise-in.  Tom brought Doc Peden’s 1936 Ford. Mike Ranieri, Larry Miller, Rodney Martin, and Mike Shockley brought their cars. Tom reminded everyone that the next Cruise-in on October 4 is the club’s month and to please show up.

Tom also went to Brits on the Shoals September 7 in Rogersville. There were 36 cars with a good variety of makes.

New business was discussed. Tom stated that he will attend Brits in the Valley in Columbus on September 21 and that anyone who would like to go should meet at the Pike Road Town Hall for a 7:00 A.M. departure. Russell said that he has provided links to upcoming car shows on the website so that participants can pre-register.

Doc Peden reported on a recent trip to his hometown in Sanquhar, Scotland.

Tom reminded everyone that there are just 30 days until British Car Day. Thanks to Tom Densmore there is a new poster advertising the show and members were encouraged take the posters and ask local businesses to display them. Instead of t-shirts, participants will receive a coffee mug with the club’s logo. Tom thanked Dan Byrne and Tom Densmore for their work on securing sponsors and giveaways. Russell reported that six people have registered so far. Registering on line is preferred with payment to be collected the day of the show. Tom will set a date for volunteers to help with stuffing goody bags and encouraged everyone to get their cars running and come to the show.

David announced that this year’s Tired Butts tour is closed with 30 people registered to go.

Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 P.M.
