Union Station Antique and Classic Car Show

Hosted by the City of Montgomery and Capital City Street Rod Association

2017 marked the fifth year of this car show in beautiful downtown Montgomery. This was the second time our club attended and the first time we had a direct invitation from the city of Montgomery. Last year the show was along the riverfront. This year underneath the stained glass of Union Station built in 1898. Though trains no longer stop here for passengers, several passed just outside. The shade and rain protection were both on call as the need for both arose before the day ended.
What a great venue and a great show. Some really fantastic cars dating back to the Model As and Ts up to some modern muscle cars. We Brits held our own! With only six cars entered by our club this year, four were awarded trophies. Doc Peden arrived late or his Rolls would have won one. Attending this year were Tom Miro – Triumph TR6, Dan Byrne – MGB, Brett & Barbie White – Austin Healey Sprite, Blitz & Amanda Welch – Triumph Spitfire, Terry Young – Jaguar XK8, Ian Peden – Rolls Royce Corniche, & David Price – MGA.
After much ogling we gathered for lunch inside Lek’s to cool down. Soon after, a ton of door prizes were given away followed by the trophies.
The winners in our group were – Terry, Dan, Brett & Barbie, & David
