17th Annual British and European Car Show

 Saturday October 19th, 2013
Lagoon Park, 10AM – 2PM

Thanks to everyone who braved the damp and chilly weather. The rain cost us some interesting cars, but wow, what we did have! The field was varied with new and old British cars and some gorgeous cars in the European class. So what did we have?

The MINI Class had both new MINIs and one original Mini. Amazing how much larger the MINI really is when compared to the original. We had some interesting new MINI examples – a Countryman and a Coupe along with several Coopers. The European Class sported a fantastic Maserati (and it could be yours!), a 22 year old Alfa Romeo that looked absolutely brand new.. When the Italian made – Ford powered Pantera rolled in, many heads turned and wondered what it was. Two fantastic Porsches , a Mazda Speed Turbo, and a Volvo C30 rounded out this class.

The Brits!  What a great looking Right Hand Drive MG Midget! I don’t know that I have seen one better. .How about a green TR6 that had to look much better than any new 6 to roll off the assembly line. We had three MGAs this year. An absolutely beautiful black A graced our field. However, the engine in the Twin Cam stole the thunder – especially when it was fired up!.  As always the Healeys looked grand., the MGBs and BGTs rounded out the class.  The modern British class had 3 Jaguar XK8s. Great looking cars and beautiful to look at. The always quick Lotus Elise looked fast just sitting there. A Jaguar Vanden Plas and Land Rover rounded out this class.

The rain did cost us some interesting cars – two original style Minis – a pickup and Traveler, a Sunbeam Alpine, another Alfa, Porsche, and Triumph GT6 bought new. Thankfully, we never had a downpour, but a few misting rains dotted the day.

The damp didn’t keep us from enjoying the food!. I doubt that would ever happen with our group. As always this was laid out nice and provided ample time to sit back, eat, and talk with folks. As always Pam and her ladies did another outstanding job.

Ok, ready to see who and what won? Lets do it:
