The Pizza Run that Wasn’t

Fair weather in January brought about an impromptu run for several members. Ron Pardo set up a backroads run to Shakey’s Pizza in Auburn. The turnout was good for a winter event. Folks gathered in Talassee ready for a great afternoon. Then things changed.

Bobby’s Twin Cam bit the dust. It has been running great, but wouldn’t hit a lick when the time came to rally on. So, Bobby called a roller back and the others departed. Next was Pam’s MGBGT. The shiny GT sputtering and spitting, crawled to the side of the road. Some quick work got it going again, but running very rough. Terry helped by driving the GT and the wounded caravan now limped back into Tallassee and settled for some local Bar B Que.

The gremlins departed Pam’s car after lunch, with the GT cranking up and running OK back to Montgomery. These gremlins were determined rascals though and sought out the now rescued Twin Cam. Safely nestled on the rollerback and facing backward, the pesky gremlins managed to open the driver side door. Flung open by the wind, the hinges broke and the door of the Twin Cam went sailing.

Pam’s car is back on the road, but Bobby’s Twin Can hasn’t fully recovered.
