On the first Saturday in April, at 9:30AM, with perfect weather, Cathy & I (in the MINI) met with fellow BMC members at the Burlington Coat Factory parking lot and caravanned up US 231 to Jasmine Hills Gardens, in Wetumpka. Along for the ride were: Bobby in his beautiful 1949 MG TC; Bob & Marion and their daughter, Jennifer; Lee and Mary Ann, all the way from Daleville in their MINI; Pam and Brandon in Pam’s MGB-GT; Doc in his Rolls Royce; and Rich in his Porsche 914.

When we arrived at Jasmine Hills, we were greeted by visitors: Scott & Lisa in their MINI; Jess and Melena in their S type and XJS Jaguars from Prattville; and members: Doris and Roland; Ron and Lyn in the XJ8-V12; and John and Cindy in their MG Midget. The grounds at the gardens were beautiful and in full bloom.

As our tour ended, Ron & Lyn led us down the hill to the Nuevo Ranchito Mexican restaurant in Wetumpka, where we met up with David in his MGA; Hamer and Lalage; and our new car collector friend, Fred Wood, in his Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet. The food and service at the Nuevo Ranchito were outstanding. Our server handled our crowd
of twenty-four with ease.

Following our meal and fellowship, we adjourned to Fred’s garage that houses his beautifully restored cars. Each car had a story of its own that Fred shared with us. Fred also had provided cake and soft drinks for those who still had room for more to eat. Following our visit with Fred, we went our separate ways back home. Special thanks to Bobby for securing a visit to the car collection, and David, Ron & Lyn, for finding the restaurant. It was a very good day.
