2017 July 4th Parade/Party/Cookout

July 4th was another fun outing for our club. The amusing Pike Road Parade was “shortened” this year. Down from two blocks to one & a half.  This shrinkage helped the candy last and Debra & I gave the last of our suckers to the policemen blocking the road. We had eight cars in the parade: 6 British, along with Bill’s drop-top Lexus and Larry’s Porsche. Bill hauled “The Old Brick” while Terry hauled the “Citizen of the Year”. Tom, Mark, Larry, myself, and Lynna with two cars rounded out our bunch.

It was HOT, Thai hot, that day, and although I was supposed to delay our arrival to Blitz & Amanda’s, I cut the ride short. OK, I missed a turn and said “It’s too hot for this” and headed to their house. The gathering here every Fourth has become one of our best-attended outings.  Mr. Blitz cooked the burgers & dogs while we sat in the breeze & socialized. This event is a great opportunity to get to know other members.  The food everyone brings is delicious. It was a fun Fourth indeed!
