2016 Biscuits Baseball

Fastest pitch at a Biscuits game by a BMCM President goes to Terry Young!

Our evening began several weeks prior to the Biscuits baseball game. David, Tom, Alex and my self decided to attend the second Saturday  car show at the river front.  Unknown at the time Earl was also there but unfortunately arrived a little early and was parked with the Corvettes.  When the awards were presented the four of us received top 25 plaques – much to our surprise.  At this point it looked like Earl would go home empty handed.  Well the door prizes were next – part of the registration process.  We collected our prizes and there was one final grand prize.  Luxury Box tickets for 25 at a future Montgomery Biscuits game.  Of course the chances of winning are like winning the Power Ball lottery.  But lo and behold Earl’s name was pulled.  Earl immediately had four best friends…  He was more surprised than anyone.  Many times the winner is someone you don’t know but in this case we did!
Fast forward to a couple weeks before the game.  Earl sent me a note that he would like to share his new found wealth with our club.  This is great news for me because I like going to the Biscuits games.  The stadium has great seating and the food is terrific.  The Biscuits players are up and coming “show” players and the games are usually exciting.  The first thing Earl wanted me to do is select a date from about five or six dates available and figure out who would go.  The short version is we ended up with commitments from 16 people.

We arrived at the stadium about an hour before the game and a very nice gentleman PJ gave our group a tour of the stadium concluding at the Luxury Suite.  Earl selected me for one of the three first pitches.  I did practice that afternoon but I threw wide – darn it!  But the pitch didn’t go in the dirt.  Ha Ha!

The luxury suite, according to Staci Wilkenson, is managed by the owners of the Biscuits Sherri Meyers and Tom Dickson who offer their suite for organizations and special events as well as prizes for occasions such as this. Once we settled in and began to enjoy the air conditioning out came the food.  Too many items to name but the sliders were good and the fruit and desserts were over the top!  Let’s just say no one but no one left hungry!
The evening was topped off with a Biscuits win 17 to 2.  It’s good to see the home town win!
For those who came out had a great time and savored every moment.
Special thanks to Earl who was kind enough to share his tickets.  His generosity is unmatched!
